Lounge Room Reveal | Christopher's Pad

The Brief: Transform the open plan lounge space in Christopher’s brand-new home. Add plenty of space for mates watch sport on a big TV. A comfy large couch is a must. With an industrial look that complements the rest of the open plan space.

Layout of furniture was important for the lounge. There was a lot of floor area to work with, with two large windows on one side and the open plan kitchen on the other. This is a high traffic area, as it is the entry point to the house from the garage, as well as two pathways from the kitchen. Therefore we decided on having large furniture pieces to define the space. One half of the lounge was dedicated to the large Samsung 65” UHD 4K Smart TV with unit. The other side of the lounge was designed as the seating/viewing area. This created a room that felt spacious, social and intimate.

The Couch is a big investment, so we spent a good deal of time sourcing the right option for Chris. Chris liked the modern and designer look of the couches at Nood, so we went in store to find the best fit. I steered him toward the Flock Lounger in Charcoal. A arrangement of four Flock Loungers was the perfect fit for the lounge. What I liked about this item is it’s a huge couch but each lounger can be moved around to give different seating options. It has plenty of space for a large gathering but you can also arrange it in a large square for a quiet at home with a good movie. Because it sits low to the ground, visually it doesn’t overwhelm the open plan space.

The antique viscose rug in sand defines the seating area and makes the charcoal of the couch even richer. We partnered the couch with a gorgeous black silouette coffee table designed with a hint of industrial style and zenith chair in black to give some extra seating and add another texture to the room.

The Styling was what took this lounge from potentially looking like a dedicated TV room to a sophisticated, multipurpose and dynamic space. The finishing touches make all the difference to interior design and creating a cohesive look. The brick wallpaper gives us an instant industrial look. The fine artwork from Nood adds a quirky and unique look, and perfectly contrasts the white brick. The patterns and colour of the scatter cushions add warm and depth, as well as make the couch even more comfy!

As vases with fresh flowers aren’t the most masculine option, the charming snake plants and large trees were perfect. Adding greenery to the space without any maintenance required!
